A galaxy cluster merger seen nearly edge-on

Abstract: Collisions between galaxy clusters induce disturbances in the gas of the intracluster medium, observed in X-rays. In non-frontal collisions, the gas dragged from the cool core may form a spiral - this is the phenomenon of sloshing. Abell 2199 is a galaxy cluster showing signs of sloshing in its core. We model this cluster as a collision with the orbital plane seen under a large inclination.
